How we understand inclusion is shifting. Rather than trying to include a few students who are different, we are striving to teach to the difference. In this full-day workshop session with Dr. Shelley Moore, we look at how collaborative planning teams can intentionally design for diversity, rather than retrofit for deficits.

In this session, we will explore practical planning approaches that allow us to design for a range of diversity using grade level curriculum. Shelley will share real examples of how we can use the Alberta curriculum in flexible ways to support success and growth for all students, while targeting self-determination and agency. Finally, we will dig into how to use curricular mapping to support students in self-assessment, as well as how to effectively provide feedback and evaluate evidence of learning.

For maximum impact, consider bringing your student support team to engage in planning conversations and discuss strategies specific to your context.
